Good show-Bad show.
Things are back to normal now, Oshkosh is over, and I’ve put up the pictures I like in the gallery. All told I took just shy of 700 photographs, and ‘round about 80 were less-sucky enough to go into the gallery. I would have preferred better weather for some of the shots, and I would have preferred to have the inclination to do some post processing on some of the shots. I have one or two “art” shots that I might be able to sell, should any one be interested, but by and large they look like the same shots every body with a camera was taking.
The really neat thing about airshows is all the airplanes. The really crappy thing about airshows is all the airplanes. I had the hardest time getting any angle of an airplane that did not have 3 or 300 other airplanes in the background. That kind of makes it hard to frame a shot that highlights the airplane I’m trying to shoot. That and all the people who really don’t give a rat’s ass about my particular interest.
I did get to meet some great new friends (who I have been remiss in contacting) and reacquainted with some old friends (who I am also remiss in contacting.) All is all it was a great time, and I hope I can go back next year…or the year after…maybe in three years.
