Almost Missed it.
Yesterday was General aviation day at Paine Field. I only know this because I got a call from my buddy (and CFII) Mike to let me know that he and Hal were working the Flight Sim booth. Not one to miss the opportunity to hang out with my former co-workers and friends, I begged The Lovely Wife to cut our garage saleing short by a few minutes. It actually wasn’t very hard, since we had just spent all the cash we brought on an (almost) new bassinet. The event is a small one, with only a few aircraft, but they were offering Young Eagle rides, and the Museum of Flight had the 247 open for walk throughs.
Normally I’m current with what’s going on with regard to Aviation events, but this time around not only did I miss GA Day, but I also missed the Warbird fly-in at the Museum of Flight held yesterday as well.
In an attempt to stop missing the boat…er…Airplane, I’ve compiled a list of events I’m planning on attending this summer.
July 5- 9 NW EAA fly-in at Arlington (AWO)
July 21 – 23 24th Annual Old Fashioned Fly In
3W5 Concrete Municipal Airport Concrete, Washington, USA
July 24- 30 Airventure/Oshkosh
August 26th Harvey Corn Roast
This is by no means a comprehensive list of fly-ins and air shows happening in Washington, for that you can look here. (Although that don’t list the corn roast.)
